Here's a quick tour of Keep My Trains: how to record your trains, find them again, and keep your collection safe.
This is your collection. Every train you own, with its photos and values, in one list. The tabs along the top take you to the train-show lookup, stats and value, and Show it off.
To add a train, choose Add. You can tell Casey about it in your own words, or choose One item and fill in the details. Start with a photo. Tick this box, and it reads the box label and fills in the details for you. Or just type what you know: the maker, the catalog number, and the railroad. Leave the title blank, and it's made for you. Add the condition, what it's worth, and where it's stored, if you know them. Then choose Add it. Saved. The title was built from the maker, number, and railroad.
To find something, search by maker, catalog number, railroad, or any word. Filters narrow the list by type, scale, maker, or tag.
Open any train to see its photos, details, and story. Estimate its value gives you price ranges, with links to the real sales behind them. Your own value is always the one used in your totals.
Print QR labels for your boxes. Values never appear on them. Stats and value shows what your collection is worth, what you paid, and where the value is.
Going to a train show? Before you leave, keep a copy of your list on your phone. Then check any catalog number, even with no signal, and see if you already have it.
Export and print makes an insurance report, or downloads everything for your family. And for fun, Show it off plays your trains as a slide show, makes a movie, or builds a Showcase page to share.
Have a question? Ask Casey, the helper in the corner. Casey knows the site and can help with your trains. If you ever get stuck, Help is on every page, one step at a time. Try it yourself with the demo collection, or start your own free thirty-day trial.
