Sign in, passwords and your email
The sign-up code, getting back in if you forget your password, and joining a collection you were invited to.
Step by step
- When you sign up, we email you a 6-digit code. Type it on the sign-up page, or press Finish signing up in the email, and your collection is made. The code works for an hour.
- No email? Check your spam folder, or choose Send another code. If you change your email address later, open the email we send to the new address and choose Confirm my email (the link works for 3 days).
- Forgot your password? On the sign-in page choose Forgot your password?, type your email and choose Send me a link. Use the link within 60 minutes to choose a new password of at least 10 characters.
- No password needed: on the sign-in page, type your email and choose Email me a sign-in code. Type the 6-digit code from the email (it works for 15 minutes), or press Sign me in in the email.
- Invited to someone's collection? Open the invitation email and choose Join the collection. If you don't have an account yet, you make one right there, with the address the invitation was sent to.
- You stay signed in on your own devices, so you won't need your password every time. Sign out on a computer other people use.
The code, or the button in the email?
Either one signs you in, once. If you use the app from your phone's home screen, type the code there: on an iPhone the button in the email opens Safari, which keeps its own sign-in, apart from the app. Asking for a new code ends the old one.
Too many tries
After several wrong passwords in a row, signing in pauses for up to 15 minutes to keep your account safe. Wait a little, then try again or use Forgot your password?.
Changing your password or email
Both are on the Account page. Changing your password signs you out everywhere else. A new email address only takes effect once you choose the link we send to it.
An invitation that doesn't work
Invitations last 14 days and work once. If yours has run out, or says you're signed in as someone else, sign out and open it again, or ask the owner to send a new one.
